Timber Creek Resource Officer Miller is offering a Teen Academy this semester.
The Teen Academy is ‘mock’ police academy that teaches the ropes of law enforcement.
“You learn everything from crime scene set up, to possible homicide investigation, to our malware control unit and see what our patrol officers go through to become a police officer,” Officer Miller explained.
Teen Academy is a six-week course with classes on Monday nights that start at 5 p.m. and end at various times due to what the class will be that day.
Students will be picked up at Timber Creek in a squad car, taken to the academy for the classes and dropped off at Timber Creek when the classes are over.
Students must fill out an application to be accepted. If you do not get accepted into the fall course, there will be another Teen Academy in the spring.
You can pick up an application in Officer Miller’s office or Ms. Sterling’s room, N104. Applications are due Friday, Sept. 11.
