TCHS Turns the Lights Out for Pep Rally

Timber Creek High School turned the lights out for the Oct. 16, 2015 pep rally ahead of a Friday night match up with Keller High School.

The rally included performances from cheerleaders, Sky Dancers, and the basketball team — all lit in blacklights.

Deadlines Approaching for Senior Ads, Yearbook Discounts, Photos

Make-up picture day is Oct. 22, 2015 for grades 9-11.

Students who were not at school for yearbook picture day should arrive go to M 106 before school or during lunch. If a picture was purchased and you are not happy with it, bring your complete picture package with you in order to receive a retake. Students will not receive a second student ID.

If you are a senior, have not had your senior yearbook picture taken and still want to be in the yearbook, Glamourcraft will be taking last minute yearbook photos in the M 106 studio for seniors on Oct. 22 from 1:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. They will have tux and drape only. There will be no additional backgrounds and there will be no gown and cap.

If any seniors want to take part in this, they must see Mrs. Beers in M106 to schedule an appointment time.

Yearbooks will be $65 until October 17 at www.yearbookforever.com. Beginning on October 18, the yearbook price will rise to $80.

Senior ads photos, text and payment are by by midnight on Oct. 17 at www.yearbookforever.com. All ads must be complete at the time of purchase. Prices increase by $40 for any ads purchased from Oct. 18 to Oct. 31.

Coach Golden Wins Cowboys Coach of the Week

Thanks to your votes, Timber Creek High School head football Coach Kevin Golden WON the Dallas Cowboys/Whataburger “Coach of the Week” award!

Each week in high school football season, the Dallas Cowboys and Whataburger nominate two local HS football coaches based on their recent match ups. Then students, parents, and fans can vote on which one of the coaches should be awarded the “Coach of the Week” prizes.

As the “Coach of the Week” Golden’s Falcon Football will receive a $2,000 grant from the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Foundation and Whataburger.

Additionally, those coaches selected will be recognized during an on-field ceremony at the Jan. 3, 2016 Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins game.

Sky Dancers Host Craft Show on Oct. 31

The Sky Dancers are hosting a craft show and silent auction at Timber Creek High School on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The fundraiser will help buy costumes for their dancing season. Attendees can find many things at this event such as home décor, food, jewelry, clothing, makeup, scrapbooking, and lots more. There will be events for the kids such as face painting and dance performances by the Sky Dancers. There will also be trick or treat events and door prizes.

Vendors are needed for the show as well. If you have items you want to display contact Tiffany Dykema at her email: tiffanydykema@yahoo.com. Make sure to come and enjoy the fun!

Do you need insights into your own aptitudes and career ideas? If so, the ASVAB may be a good opportunity for you.

TCHS will offer the ASVAB free of charge to 10th through 12th grade students who register in advance. The test will be given on Tuesday October 27, 2015 from 3:30-6:30 in the TCHS Lecture Hall.

Law and Mock Trial Clubs
It’s not too late.  The Law/Mock Trial Club has started, and we still need a few more members to join.  If your like to argue or debate legal issues and have aspirations to be an attorney or Judge, you would be perfect for the team. OR if you like to run around with guns and handcuffs and are interested in being a cop, then come join the Law Enforcement Club.  We will be going to competitions to compete against other schools in the area.  At competitions there will be several police departments and colleges there for recruitment.  We meet on Monday afternoons from 3:45-5 p.m. in Room N204.  Please stop by and see Ms. Sterling to pick up a membership form and to ask any questions.
