Melissa Taylor’s AP World History classes — affectionately known as WHAP (World History AP) — held a mock trial on Genghis Khan on Nov. 4 and 5, 2015.
The trial gives the students a chance to learn in a creative way and use real life skills.
“I learned more doing a mock trial than I would have reading the book because it gives you a chance to apply what you know in a fun way,” sophomore Nathan Grimes said.
In the mock trial, students could be attorneys, witnesses, and jury members.
“The best part about being a defense attorney is that it makes you work harder because you need to get everyone’s information down,” Grimes commented.
Other history classes are also doing mock trials as a way of learning and having fun at the same time.
