The Lady Falcons district schedule starts Friday night with a home game against rival Byron Nelson.
The Lady Falcons varsity team is 4-7 in non-district play and lost 4 of those games by 3 points or less. Two of the losses were in games that went into overtime.
The Varsity Team Captains are Lauren Sparger, Jessica Mitchell, and Madison Tooke. They have adopted the motto “Battle,” an attitude they have taken to heart. Some of the season notables include Sydney Nuney who is averaging 10 points a game and 6 rebounds a game. Jazz Mason is averaging 6 points a game and 4.5 rebounds a game, while Madison Tooke has 17 assists this year. Jordan Dixon has 22 steals this season.
The Lady Falcons love to serve others — something coach Tina DeMichele says is “one of the great qualities about the team.” For their service project this year, the girls spent last Saturday helping children with special needs play baseball for the “Miracle League.” Additionally, for the Dec. 11 battle with Byron Nelson, the Lady Falcons are accepting donations to Toys for Tots to allow fans to see the first district game of the season for free.
The Junior Varsity ladies are off to a good start as they prepare for district. They have started the year 7-3 which includes winning the Saginaw Tournament. They play Byron Nelson for their first district game Friday night as well.
The freshman have gotten off to a fast start this season. Their record is 9-3. This includes two second place in tournaments. November 12-14 they traveled to Arlington Sequin where they finished 3-1 and brought home a second place trophy. The following week they again finished 3-1 for second place in the Keller Tournament. Much of the offense has gone through Emma and Anna Thrope and defensive standouts include Mallory Anderson, Heidi Rodriguez, and Rylee Felton. They also play their first district game Friday night against Byron Nelson.
