Timber Creek Baseball tryouts will begin Jan. 28, but students should be aware of requirements before the sessions start.
To tryout for the Timber Creek Baseball teams, all players must have a current physical and must have completed all KISD paperwork prior to tryouts. No player will be allowed to try out that hasn’t turned the paperwork in. If you’re unsure, check with Coach Henley for confirmation.
During tryouts, players will be evaluated for their baseball ability, and how they may impact the Timber Creek Baseball Program. Hitting, fielding, pitching, and throwing are all skills being evaluated. Academics and the overall character of each athlete will also be taken into consideration in the evaluation process.
Potential players should dress according to the rules of baseball. Baseball pants, sleeved shirts, cleats, and gloves are required for tryouts.
See below for the tryout dates, times, locations and grade levels:
TCHS will field 9th grade, JV Purple, JV Gold, and Varsity teams during the 2016 season. Team rosters will range from 12-20 players. Cuts will be made after each tryout session through Feb. 13, 2016.
During the season, practices will be held from 4-6 p.m. during the school week for all grade levels. Saturdays will have games and Saturday practices will be announced when there are no practices scheduled. Practice will be held during the week of Spring Break, so plan accordingly to reduce conflicts.
