The theater department is preparing a one act play for a UIL competition called “Silent Sky.” They plan to have a public performance available for the school on April 15, 2016.
A total of 13 people have been diligently preparing for the competition ahead of them.
“It’s great to work with a lot of talented and passionate people who really love what they do and are dedicated to their craft,” said junior Haley Price.
Auditions were held in December, and these are the people who have been casted:
Henrietta: Caroline Norton
Margaret: Rylee Jones
Peter: Austin Klopfenstien
Annie: Hannah Kersey
Williamina: Gabi Galloway
Crew:
Stage Manager: Blake Cooper
Sound: Aaron Frye
Lights: Jacob Galloway
Backstage: Charlie Kefe and Haley Price
Alternates:
Jordan Davis
Hannah Malihos
Caleb Shaw
Kaleigh Smith
They usually meet every day to rehearse. The director, Mr. Wilson, is in charge of all that goes on in the play. Admission is free for everyone who comes and watches.
“It’s a lot of work, but it’s really fun,” said Price. “This year, the company is smaller so everyone has a bigger part in the creative process.”
