Timber Creek varsity girls soccer has clinched their sixth straight playoff appearance following a March 8, 2016 victory.

The team beat Northwest in a 2-1 victory that was moved earlier in the afternoon to avoid bad weather.

Following the win, Assistant Coach Taylor May shared the happy news on Twitter.

Even before the start of the 2015-16 season, the girls team had playoffs as an expectation.

“To make the playoffs every year of our existence says a lot about our program.  We have created an environment in which the playoffs aren’t a goal but an expectation,” Head Coach Mike King said.

“This team has overcome injuries to key players throughout the year and has persevered through it all,” King said. “These girls have a sense of pride about playing for their school and work extremely hard to represent it.”

The final games of the 2015-16 regular season are Thursday, March 10 at Guyer and Tuesday, March 15 against Central for the girls’ Senior Night.

As they go into the playoffs, King believes in his “tough” team.

“They are tough both mentally and physically, and that will continue to make them successful as they move on with their lives in whatever they choose to do,” said King.
