The Varsity Girls and Boys golf teams traveled to Glen Rose, Texas to compete in a two-day event at Squaw Valley Golf Course on Feb. 19 and 20. The tournament was hosted by Burleson Centennial High School and featured 120 golfers from seventeen schools from both private and public.
The girl’s team consisted of Sydney Cundiff, Victoria Garcia, Maddi Turner, and Lauren Wallace posted a two-day total of 801, adding their names to the Timber Creek Girls record book as eighth best two-day event. Garcia Lead the way for the falcons with a two total of 186 and claimed 21st place Wallace was eight strokes behind for the Falcons.
The boys team added their name to the timber creek golf record book as well. The team of Cole Jones, Garrison Kuehler, Cody Schneider, Ross Shockley, and Jarred Roland placed their names on three team records. The team’s first day total of 338 at Squaw Valley pushed aside a four-year record for the top spot. That record lasted almost one full day as the Falcons set a new team record the next day of the tournament posting a combined score of 327. The two-day team total was 665 also tops the list as the boys 36-hole tournament record.
Individually three Falcons added their names to the record book. Leading the way for the falcons was Garrison Kuehler who shot a two-day total of 160 putting him in a tie for sixteenth place in the medalist competition. His efforts also tie the number five spot in the Timber Creek record book for 36 holes of golf. Cody Schneider tournament score of 164 takes over the number eight spot in the record book for a two-day event. Jarred Roland put his name on the number ten spot with a two-day total of 171 and set a personal career best eighteen hole score shooting an 80 on the second day of competition.
