HOSA and the Fort Worth Police Department are teaming up to help children who have gone through traumatic experiences such as car accidents, house fires and even family violence.
HOSA will be accepting new stuffed animals for the police department. The stuffed animals will then be given to the police officers themselves when they go on patrol. If an officer ever comes into contact with a child that has been through a traumatic experience, these officers will hand out the stuffed animals.
“The program we donated to has helped many children. So far very few have helped and we need as much support as possible!” says sophomore HOSA member Helara Wijesundara.
When turning in your stuffed animals to rooms N208, M214 or C206, make sure to keep the tag on.
The teachers of these three rooms will be collecting the donations until the end of Tuesday, May 17, 2016.
