Keller ISD’s Board of Trustees held a Special Meeting Tuesday, June 28, at which it approved the hiring of Donnie Bartlett as the new Principal at Timber Creek High School.
Bartlett joins Keller ISD from Grand Prairie ISD where he has served as Principal at the South Grand Prairie 9th Grade Center since 2013. He previously served as a middle school principal in GPISD and as an elementary school principal before that. However, Bartlett is no stranger to Northeast Tarrant County. He began his educational career in Carroll ISD where he served as a teacher and coach for five years before taking over as a teacher and offensive coordinator of the Richland High School football program in Birdville ISD.
Bartlett obtained his Masters of Educational Administration from Dallas Baptist University and his Bachelors of Science in Education from the University of North Texas.
“Donnie has a track record of success leading schools at all levels,” said Penny Benz, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources. “He has a strong foundation in capturing students’ hearts and his positive attitude focused on servant leadership aligns with the mission and vision of Timber Creek High School and the core values of Keller ISD.”
Bartlett becomes just the second principal in the history of Timber Creek High, which in August will begin its eighth year of serving students in the northwest portions of Keller ISD. Former TCHS Principal Todd Tunnell accepted a position in Keller ISD’s Academic Support Department earlier this summer.
