New Timber Creek Principal Donnie Bartlett is all smiles going into the 2016-2017 school year. Bartlett worked up from teaching in 1999 at Southlake Carroll High School to being Timber Creek’s new principal. He’s taught social studies and coached football for Southlake Carroll High School.
Bartlett aims to be a student centered principal and strives to be there for Timber Creek students through meeting them and being present in the lunchroom, classrooms and hallways.
“I’ve seen STUCO and I’ve met with the whole board. I’ve been to the senior car wash and STUCO car wash. I’ve gone to football practice. I’ve been to volleyball games. I’ve gone to meet the Sky Dancers and the cheerleaders. I’ll be very involved,” Bartlett commented.
Bartlett wants Timber Creek to be the inspiration of Texas high schools by making it the destination high school of Keller ISD.
“I am going to lead from the front and build relationships with the school so the kids feel a sense of community and pride in the school. And through that I think we can push the academic success piece,” Bartlett said.
Bartlett supports the students’ organizations and student athletes by not only going to the events and walking the halls but also by being on Twitter.
“I have a Twitter account,” Bartlett said. He encourages students and faculty to follow him on Twitter @donniebartlett9
