After being “saved by the jingle bells” Timber Creek’s student radio station, TCFM, is expanding student programming and focusing on great music.
Starting Jan. 17, 2017, the station is running a schedule of student-created radio shows, DJ blocks, and music from the Timber Creek community, plus adding a variety to the evenings with a block of music devoted to multiple decades.
TCFM’s broadcast day starts with modern hits and rock music from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m.
Then, at 7, it’s TCFM’s new student-created radio program, JMR Morning Show. The show mixes student talk segments with popular current music and a few fun favorites. Students Jackson Thibodeaux, Madison Galer, and Rylee Cristan (the J, M, and R, respectively) anchor the block.
Following JMR, 9 to 11 a.m. features music selected by Radio Broadcasting students. Listen in to hear their selections and the voices of the DJs that picked the songs.
At 11, it’s our sport analysis show, 2 Minute Drill, featuring sports insight from a group of Timber Creek athletes, radio students, and sports fans. Each episode highlights sports stories from Timber Creek, the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and around the nation. 2 Minute Drill also replays at 6 p.m. each night.
From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. is our block of Timber Creek-produced tunes from the band, choir, and TCHS students who’ve submitted music. Click here to enter the form to submit your own tunes.
Student DJs select the tunes from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Starting at 7 p.m., music from your favorite decades takes over TCFM. Hear selections from the 1970s at 7 p.m., new wave and more from the 1980s at 8 p.m., the hits of the 1990s at 9 p.m., and songs from not that long ago as the 2000s play at 10 p.m.
Additional blocks of music are being adjusted by TCFM producers.
