In the midst of their already successful 2016-2017 year, the Timber Creek debate team had 4 students including Bo Hiet, Addison Davis, Noah Anzaldua and Micheal Vilayvanh advance to state.
On Jan. 31, the Debate team competed in a UIL debate competition. Hiet and Davis placed second and will be advancing to state for Policy Debate in March. Anzaldua and Vilayvanh placed third and will be advancing to state as alternates.
“Bo and I prepare for meets by constantly updating our files, improving our speaking at after school practices and studying our topic.” Debate speaker Davis explained.
The State tournament will be held March 13 through 18, the specific times have yet to be announced.
“It feels incredible to have made it to state! It’s really rewarding to have our hard work pay off,” said Davis.
