Girls Varsity Soccer showcased their strong bond and passionate focus on their latest win on Thursday, March 23, against Arlington.
The determination and effort that the team used was unmatched by their opponents. Especially the team’s “dynamic duo”, Courtney Sebazco and Haley Ward, whom have managed to break down every opponents defense together.
“We have a powerful connection as teammates on the field,” said Sebazco, “We have a great chemistry between us and it allows us to accomplish some great things for the team, Coach King, and each other!”
The pair’s obvious connection and telepathy-like thinking are seen even from the sidelines of the games.
“Courtney Sebazco and Haley Ward are a force to be reckoned with,” said assistant varsity soccer coach, Taylor May.

The team overall fought hard and pushed through despite the 24 mph winds fighting against them. In the first half, the Falcons had a lead of 0-1 and they were working hard. They came out with a 2-0 win and a humble attitude about the playoffs.
“We were all really excited about coming out with a win and moving on the 2nd round because we have been working extremely hard all season,” said Mary Cleek, Varsity soccer player, “But with all the competition in the postseason our high work ethic needs to continue to grow stronger as a team.”
“The next step in playoffs is working hard during practice this upcoming week, and being prepared for any challenges that come our way,” said Hannah Almond, varsity soccer player.
Timber Creek varsity girls soccer next playoff game will be against Frenship High School on Friday, March 31, 2017. The location is Shotwell Stadium in Abilene at 7:30 p.m.
