After an unimaginable season of wins and losses and a final defeat within the playoffs, the Timber Creek Football team looks to increase the complexity and strength of the program. After what Coach Golden describes as possibly the most successful season in school history, the coaches are working diligently over the course of the off season to build upon the fundamentals of the game, as well as condition players who have shown future potential for the team’s games to come.
“We continue to improve on previous seasons and continue to grow as a program,” said Golden. “Our upperclassmen and returning lettermen act as role models to their younger peers and share their experiences with them helping to strengthen the team.”
Setting goals as a team as well as individually, each player is personally tested three times throughout the off season on running intervals, maximum reps for lifting and a numerous amount of other tests as well. With every game posing as a challenge no matter who they are playing, the football team treats each game just as equally important as the previous.
“The coaches do a great job of teaching the younger athletes and preparing them for each new season,” said Golden. “Each year we lose senior varsity players to graduation and, though the senior players will be missed, it gives the next group of varsity players the opportunity to rise to the challenge and show what they can do to help this team win. [But just as well], with each win it brings us closer to accomplishing our season goals.”
