Cast your vote for one of these nominated teachers to be Timber Creek April’s Teacher of the Month.
CTE
Mrs. Carla Wright teaches Digital Interactive Media, Graphic Design and Illustration, Mobile Application Development and Principles of Information Technology. In addition, she is always willing to jump in and help with anything asked. From taking UIL teams to competition, helping out in the school store or creating signs around campus, she ALWAYS does it with a SMILE on her face. Her happiness is contagious and we are so glad that she is part of our CTE family!
English
Sandra Bowen has stepped into Mrs. Nguyen’s classes and owned those students and their progress. While the English department misses Theresa, we are so grateful for Sandra’s expertise and experience. She has been a contributor since day one according to her English II team. It’s not an easy task to build relationships with students under the pressure of a state exam along with benchmarks, computer systems, and new procedures, but Sandra has done just that. On a side note, if you haven’t enjoyed one of Sandra’s chocolate chip cookies, you’re missing out on a treat.
Fine Arts
Lindsey Harris has been teaching dance here at Timber Creek for 3 years. She is the assistant director to the Sky Dancers and established the Violet Belle program. She is an amazing person and colleague. She is an expert in her teaching field, and knows how to extract the best from her students, pushing them to new levels of achievement. Building relationships with our kids here at Timber Creek is an area that Lindsey excels in. Her students love her and it’s because she cares for them while holding them to a high standard. She devotes countless hours to the dance programs here at TC and is the consummate professional. We are so fortunate to have her on our staff and taking the leadership role as the Sky Dancers’ director next year!

Erin Wood – Erin is so energetic and focused on her students. She always has a smile on her face and stops to talk to and listen to her students.

I would like to nominate Chis Simmons for Teacher of the Month. Chris teaches almost all of our Seniors who take Academic Government which giving him a very large class load. He has worked tirelessly to engage his students and to make the course relevant to their everyday lives. Chris strives to bring current events into the classroom to help his students make connections and find the significance in what they are studying on a daily basis.
Special Education
Oscar Rodriguez is a wonderful teacher and colleague. He is always happy to pitch in and help his students or coworkers. He remains calm in the most trying of circumstances. Mr. Rodriguez uses a combination of hard work, common sense, and patience to get his students ready for their future careers. We are lucky to have him here at TCHS!
World Languages/AVID
Stephani Biggs has taken over the enormous responsibility of teaching AP Spanish Language and Culture. She provides engaging lessons for her students and challenges them on a daily basis. She sponsored a trip to Spain during spring break to allow her students the opportunity to use what they are using in class in the real world. Stephani is an excellent teacher a great colleague. We are lucky to have her in our department.
