Every year since 2013, the bands from all four Keller ISD high schools and six feeder middle schools come together one night in the fall to showcase the talents of every band student in the Keller school district in an event known as the Marching Expo. This marks the fifth year that the Keller bands have put on this event.
Each high school will be performing their contest shows, with the feeder middle schools playing a short stand tune in between the high schools. Once all bands have performed, the 10 bands will meet on the field to play a popular tune by The Rolling Stones titled Paint It Black. This is the only time each year that students can hear every band student in the district play at the same time.
This year, the expo will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at the Keller ISD stadium. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and the show starts at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for $5, with a limited number available. Students may purchase tickets from any of the Keller ISD band programs until they run out. All proceeds from the event benefit all of the KISD band programs.
