For the Lights Out themed football game on Sept. 8, T-shirts were ordered as per usual for students to show support for the Timber football team. The shirts were black, with the words TURN OUT THE LIGHTS in bold white lettering, but this time there was a little twist, as the shirts were promised to glow in the dark.
While this statement was partially true, the promise fell a little short when students began to realize that after one wash of the shirt, the glow that was assured was no longer present.
“I was a little disappointed at first,” said Head Cheer Coach, Alisha Fickle. “We were trying to do something new, and more exciting than usual.”
According to Fickle, the shirt manufacturer, Printed Threads, made the entire situation right and is sending new shirts in for the kids who experienced the issue free of charge. She also states that there are no hard feelings with the company for the error that occurred.
The issue didn’t seem to stop students though, and at the game, a sea of kids were still clad in the shirt.
