On Thursday, Nov. 30, HOSA will be hosting a blood drive in the small gym from 9:30 a.m to 2:30 p.m. There will be an upward of 210 slots open and students as young as 16, with proper paperwork, will be able to give blood.
All students are required to be at least 110 pounds and have a photo ID that states your birthday. Students are able to donate in class, Nov. 30, with a pass students will receive when all the proper forms are turned in.
There will be an online form that will need to be filled out. Donators will need to put their first and last name with their student ID, and also need to stop by room C206 to receive the proper forms from Pamela Mallory. Click here or scan the QR code below to sign up.
The last day to sign up is Nov. 17 and all required forms are to be turned in to room C206 by Nov. 28. All students donating will also receive a free t-shirt.
Blood is a priceless, essential need for life and can not be replaced. One in every ten people that walk into a hospital are in need of a blood transfusion.
According to Carter Blood Care, “Every three seconds, there is a person in need of blood. It just takes one pint of blood to save up to three lives.”
