14Forty is originally the youth ministry at the Eagle Mountain International Church in Newark, TX, but it is also at Timber Creek for students who would like to join. The club has been around campus for a while now, meeting every Wednesday at 8 a.m. in S108.
According to their official website, the name of the group comes from how there are 1440 minutes in a day that can be lived for God’s glory.
“Our mission is to impact students with the love of Jesus, disciple them intensely in The Word of God, teach them an uncommon faith, and help them stand victoriously in life.”
Seeing how much everyone needs a safe place inspired junior Elizabeth Abrams to bring the organization to school.
“It is about spreading the love of God and teaching everyone how much God wants to show His love to them,” said Abrams.
Abrams attends other clubs such as FCA, or Fellowship of Christian Athletes, but 14Forty stands as its own, independent group. Although a Christian-based club, it is always open for anyone who would like to come to a meeting. Reminders concerning the schedule and the agenda can be acquired by texting @14fortyoc to 81010. Donuts are also provided.
