Facing off against Fossil Ridge High School for their fourth Districts game, the Timber Creek Boys Basketball Team has faced off this season 6-10 overall and 3-1 so far in districts. With their next game on Friday, Jan. 12, the team hopes to continue their goal of winning more than 20 games overall, as well as hoping to win districts and continue on to playoffs. For Coach Brad Mouser, the team each year has proven to be different in not only how they play, but in training style as well, having already made it to finals in the teams last tournament and now looking towards future improvement.
“District is game to game preparation,” said Coach Brad Mouser. “Every team is unique.”
Likewise, senior Jimmy Mouser is confident in the team, with the entire team playing well together and making the season successful, as well as getting better daily.
“Now that we are in district, we are working on focusing and playing every game to succeed in the long run,” said Jimmy Mouser. “Every practice is important and we can’t risk to waste a day…every game is making us better and better…success is our future.”
Having won their last game against an undefeated Haltom, the student-athletes hope to continue playing at their strongest, with several stepping up to the challenging roles in leading the team.
“[We try to be] ‘everyday guys’,” said Jimmy Mouser. “Everyday guys means [that we need to] show up on time ready to compete and ready to go hard and get better every single day.” We really push the concept of “no days off.”
With JV playing at 4:30 p.m. and Varsity starting at 7 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 12. The varsity game will be streamed on Timber Creek Sports Network, with the broadcasting link attached here: http://www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/timber-creek-high-school-fort-worth-tx/f677c4fc4f
