The final Carter BloodCare Blood Drive of the year will take place on Tuesday, April 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the small gym.
“We would love for all of our students and teachers to sign up to save a life,” said Michelle Somerhalder via email.
Sign-ups have opened up, so there are a lot of spots available. Students have to be at least 16 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and have a photo ID that includes their birthdate to donate this year, this includes a Driver’s license and/ or school ID. Students will be given a pass to leave class to donate blood once we have verified that they have turned in all of the required paperwork, which is available in Room C206. It is the students responsibility to keep the pass until Tuesday.
“Our first Blood Drive this year was very successful, so I can’t wait to see if we can do even better this time,” said Somerhalder.
If a student would like to sign up, please use the link below.
Sign up online again, but they must turn in the required forms as well. When students sign up online, please use first and last name and write student ID number by their last name in the same space. Stop by Room C206 and see Pamela Mallory for more information and to pick up the required forms. The last day to sign up is April 13, and the required forms will be due to Room C206 by April 20.
All students that donate will receive a free t-shirt. Seniors, you will receive red cords for graduation if they donate blood at least twice this school year. If a student is also an athlete and currently in season for their sport, it must be ensured that they have spoken with their coach before they donate blood.
“Don’t forget to drink plenty of water prior to donating blood; eat a good meal the night before, and get plenty of rest,” said Somerhalder. “Thank you for your dedication to saving lives.”
