Pack your bags, because teachers Stephanie Biggs, Adriana Vazquez, and Mikaela Jaros are sponsoring a trip to Italy and Spain during the spring break of 2021.
Attend the informational meeting on Thursday, Oct. 3 in the Lecture Hall in order to receive a discount of $275 off the cost of the trip. This is the last chance for attendees to get the discounted price. If you are unable to attend, make sure to contact any of the sponsors in order to learn how to register for this once in a lifetime opportunity.
“I know the kids really love all of the places we are going, but we are going to some new places that Timber Creek kids haven’t ever been to. We are gonna see some castles, some aqueducts, cathedrals. The cathedrals are great, the art is really cool, we are going to do a scavenger hunt,” Biggs said. “I can’t think of one place we are going that isn’t awesome. I’ve been to all of the places we are going to Spain so I’ve seen them all, but it’ll be fun to see students get to experience them.”
This trip will be packed with exciting events, including a trip to the Prado Museum, an excursion to Toledo, visits to the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Sistine Chapel, and even a cooking class in Rome.
“We are very excited. All of the trips we always take, the tour guides are in English,” Biggs said. “We are very excited this year that Ms. Jaros is going because Spain and Italy have such great art, and last time we went to Spain we didn’t have that many art kids so I’d love more kids to come to see the great art. Anybody can come.”
Being fluent in Spanish or Italian is not a requirement to participate in the trip. Everyone is welcome to explore the culture of southern Europe.
“If you have never been outside of the country, or if you haven’t seen other cultures, you can’t get an education like seeing it first hand,” Biggs said. “You just learn so much by actually seeing the art, seeing the architecture, seeing the culture.”
For more information, be sure to attend the informational meeting on Oct. 3 in the Lecture Hall. Remember, if one wishes to travel but cannot attend the meeting, talk to a trip sponsor for details on registering for the trip.
