Keller ISD is considering instating a clear bag policy for Keller ISD Stadium starting the 2020-2021 school year. The district is in the process gathering information from other districts such as Denton ISD, Richardson ISD, Northwest ISD, Katy ISD, and Northeast ISD in San Antonio about what has worked in their clear bag policies.

The purpose of implementing the clear bag policy is to make it easier to see what people are bringing into games, ensuring that prohibited items stay out of the stadium for safety purposes. Whether or not there will be an exception for certain bags (such as small clutch purses, diaper bags, etc.) has not yet been decided.

According to Keller ISD’s Director of Athletics, Eric Persyn, more details on this policy are set to be released in March.

“We want to make sure that when this comes into effect next fall, it is implemented as smoothly as possible for all our fans,” Persyn said.

With safety as the district’s number one priority, parents, students, and fans may need to be on the look out for a clear bag for the 2020 football season.
