HOSA will be hosting their annual fall blood drive in conjunction with Carter BloodCare on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m in the Small Gym.
HOSA representatives will be on the stage during all lunches to help people sign up for a slot. Students can also sign up using the QR code (or click here) on posters around the school and picking up required forms in Mrs. Pamela Mallory’s room C206. The last day to register is Monday Nov. 18 and the final day to turn in the required forms is Tuesday, Nov. 19.
“[Its important for people to donate] so they can donate to the people in need and save lives,” HOSA member Kylie Sayre said. “There could potentially be a student out there with a rare blood type and if they donate, they could save a future patient’s life.”
Students must be at least 16 years old and weigh 110 lbs to donate, and those 17 and under must fill out a parental consent form. Photo ID is required for all donors. Additionally, seniors who donate two times over the course of their senior year can earn a blood drive cord.
