In light of the closure of all Texas school districts until April 3, KISD’s Technology Department has come up with a process for checking out and distributing technology to students so that they may continue their courses online.

A limited number of Chromebooks and WiFi hotspots will be available for pick-up Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting Monday, March 23. The technology will be distributed at the following campuses:

Before picking up the technology, families must fill out a form to request a Chromebook or a MiFi. Families that are unable to fill out the request form online should contact their home campus.

Furthermore, KISD sent families an email on Thursday, March 19, detailing the technology distribution process and more. The email has been copied below for convenience.

Keller ISD Families,

With online learning in Keller ISD set to begin Monday, March 23, KISD’s Technology Department has rolled out a process for distributing technology to those students who need them during the District’s COVID-19 closure.

Chromebooks will be available for pick-up at four locations beginning Monday, March 23:

Please click here if you would like to request a Chromebook for your student during the closure. The form must be completed prior to visiting a pick-up location. Families not able to complete the form online should contact their campus.

Pick-up will take place from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday while the District is closed. These are also four of the 11 locations that are also providing drive-through breakfast and lunch pick-up for families during the closure from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Friday.

In addition to Chromebooks, a limited number of WiFi hotspots are available for families that need internet connectivity during the closure. KISD Technology recommends first consulting any one of several communications companies offering complimentary internet service for a limited time.
