As winter break approaches, the question on many students minds is “What is there to do over break that’s safe to do?”
Below is a list of 12 ideas to stay busy while also staying healthy and safe over the holiday break.
Bake something new
Learn how to bake something, either Christmas cookies or cupcakes or be adventures and make a whole cake. Have fun with it.
Facetime your friends and family
Make sure to stay connected with friends and family while also staying safe. Facetime, Zoom, Skype, and many other platforms can be used to connect with others.
Go to a drive in movie
Drive in’s are a great way to stay away from others but still get outside and still see classic movies. During break, Coyote drive-in in Ft. Worth will be playing Christmas favorites.
Look at Christmas lights
Looking at all the Christmas lights is a great way to spend time and get in the holiday spirit. Many neighborhoods in the area have very festive light displays and there is a drive through light show at Texas Motor Speedway.
Start a new hobby
Keep working on the quarantine projects from back in April, or get started on something new.
Read a book
There are tons of books that need reading. Take a break from scrolling through Tik Tok and pick up a book.
Binge a new show
There are so many new shows out that are just begging to be binged.

Have a movie marathon
Take the opportunity to have an actual movie marathon and stay up to the wee hours of the morning without worrying about being away for school the next day.
Try and cook something new
Find a recipe that sounds good and just give it a go. What’s the harm in learning how to cook.
Go on a walk
Get outside, stretch your legs, and get some fresh air.
Play a board game
Have some quality family time and break out the old deck of Uno or learn a new game.
