Just like drawing or singing, style can be a creative outlet. It can be a way for people to further show their unique artistic perspective on the world. Junior Sophie Le uses her creativity to create “random and colorful,” outfits inspired by objects that surround her.

“I’d say I get most of my outfit inspiration from random objects, it’s weird but I like to look at certain items in my house and try to match its colors or patterns,” Le said.

Inspiration also comes in the form of fashion designers and fashion influencers for Le.  She mentions that, “Jamie Xie and fashion designer Shirley Tang,” are her main fashion inspirations.

Le also uses accessories and makeup to embellish and finish off an outfit. By doing this, she creates dynamic outfits that have a clear artistic influence.

“I like layering necklaces and/or chunky rings. Jewelry is the cherry on top to any outfit in my opinion,” Le stated. The same goes for small colorful handbags or bright eyeshadows.”

Contrastingly to her style, Le’s art is much darker. She is able to use both her style and her art to explore separate aesthetics.

“My art has a melancholic atmosphere and tends to be darker colors and shades while I’d say my style is more bright and there’s a lot going on. I try to keep my art simple and my outfits more detailed.”
