Most Americans can now pick up free government issued N95 masks. Masks provided by the Biden administration are now available at participating pharmacies and community health centers with more to be shipped in the coming days.
The White House announced Jan. 19, that it will issue all Americans with Free N95 masks upon their request. The program is similar to President Biden’s program to provide free at home COVID-19 tests for those who want them. The initiative is apart of the government’s latest response to a nationwide surge in Covid-19 cases, which have recently topped 900,000.
So Heres What You Need To Know:
When can I get my free N95 masks?
Many providers are already giving out masks, with the first shipment from Jan. 20th.
Where can I get the masks?
Most of the same pharmacies that participated in COVID-19 vaccine program are also participating in this one, according to the White House. This means most major chains, such as Rite Aid, Walgreens, Walmart and CVS, will have them, as well as independent locations.
Are they really free even if you don’t have insurance?
Yes, they are free. And you don’t need to have insurance to get one.
How many masks can I get?
Each person is allowed three masks at a time, according to the White House. The masks are given out per person, so more than one person from the same household can get them.
