UPDATE: Keller ISD announces that all extracurricular including fine arts and athletic events are canceled starting Wednesday Feb. 2, through Friday Feb. 4th. Administration will meet Feb. 4th to decide on Saturday events.
All Keller ISD schools have been canceled Thursday Feb. 3 and Friday Feb. 4 2022, due to the projected winter storm warning and possible road conditions with no virtual option.
According to the National Weather Service, a winter storm warning was placed upon Fort Worth at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. There is a possibility of up to 1/2 inches of ice and up to two inches of snow or sleet.
All before and after-school clubs and organizations have been canceled for Feb. 3 and 4th. Students involved in athletic teams and/or fine arts will receive information from their coaches of directors regarding their specific events.
Keller ISD is projected to open and resume classes on Feb. 7th. KISD will not have to make up the missed days because the District’s Instructional Calendar has included additional time to account for closures.
A Keller ISD statement from an email sent to parents and students:
“District administrators have closely monitored weather forecasts, and with below freezing temperatures and anticipated precipitation, the decision was made to close schools for the safety of all KISD families and employees.”
