Class ranks – people are typically either for them or against them. Whether one checks Home Access Center every hour at the end of each semester to see where they stand, or haven’t even looked at their transcript since freshman year, there’s one position none of us would mind being in – first.
On Sunday, Jan. 5, actress Laura Dern took home her fifth Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture for her portrayal of vicious divorce attorney Nora Fanshaw in Noah Baumbach’s ‘Marriage Story.’ The film truly is one of the best of 2019, and that is largely thanks to Dern.
For these upperclassmen, life after graduation holds many exciting promises and opportunities.
On Thursday, Nov. 7, high school art students in Keller ISD participated in the third annual KISD Art Contest. Timber Creek was the overall champion in the competition.

In October of 2019, junior Jaycie Lavin earned her third degree black belt in American Karate. Although a huge accomplishment on its own, martial arts means much more to Lavin than rankings or material accomplishments.

They deserve to be celebrated for their work because without them, so many students would not know what it’s like to want to change the world.

Marching band members are no strangers to hard work. They practice hours every week in preparation for their competition season, and the dedication of these athletes and musicians is truly admirable. As a way to showcase their talent and diligence, an annual Marching Expo is held at Keller ISD stadium.
Archery club holds great importance to its members, and has weekly practices, but many students don’t know that it exists.
