CTE
Debbie Begley – Dedicated best describes Debbie! She has been bringing smiles and laughter since we opened the school and has served in various capacities- you can always count on her to be there for whatever is needed. She mostly spends countless hours coaching/taking students to Debate Tournaments which is why her teams always bring home the treasures of success! She is a great friend to all at TCHS.

English
Mr. Carrington has a number of responsibilities that he carries admirably. As the DAP administrator, he handles the paper work for seniors who think they qualify for distinguished achievement (and their parents).  As the English II on-level lead, he, well, leads.  The group is making every effort to provide our on-level sophomores with the knowledge they need to score well on STAAR and to be successful as they move toward graduation.  As a member of the ELA department, he is our go-to tech person and handler of adding staples to the copy machine.  Most importantly, Matthew cares about his students and their progress.

Fine Arts
Rebecca Rose’s contagious smile and dedication to her students is what I love the most about her. She is a fabulous human, as well as an intentionally exceptional program director. She has high expectations that are attainable and she drives her students to be the best they can be. Love having her on my team.

Math
Deborah Belanger – Back from maternity leave and her students really missed her and are glade to have her back in the classroom.  She was “rip – roaring” ready to step back into the thick of things!

Science
Daniel Ward has a passion for life and bring this to his classroom and students by incorporating his real world work/life experiences in his lessons.  He is a kind, funny and nurturing teacher. If you need a good laugh, stop by his room and check out his wall of science memes.  They are pretty punny!

Social Studies
Katy Fatheree is the Social Studies nominee for this month. Katy joined TCHS this year with a “can do” attitude and quickly assumed a leadership role. She currently serves as the level lead for US History and has brought great a new synergy to the role. She also takes great pride in meeting the needs of each of her students and provides a warm and welcoming class atmosphere. Katy brings a spirit of excellence to each endeavor and serves as a model teacher to our department.

Special Education
Tami Healy is a wonderful teacher.  She can often be found in the hallways, classroom kitchen, or other locations with her students. She makes sure they receive a well – rounded education including exposure to performances, art, physical activity, and academic subjects.  She is very creative and always positive, and we are lucky to have her on our team!

World Languages
Teresa Williams does a fantastic job while teaching three different preps.  She sponsors the Spanish Club and the Spanish National Honor Society.  She has had incredible success with the AP Spanish Literature program, and her students have earned credit for several college classes.
