The Timber Creek Art and Literature Magazine opened submissions for the Spring 2017 edition on Feb. 1. Having released the fall magazine at the close of the first semester, the team deems it a success.

“I think it’s important that we have something that showcases student’s creative work,” said magazine editor Sarah Ulery. “It’s rewarding for students to see their work in a solid publication, and it influences others to express their creative sides as well.”

Students wishing to submit should fill out the form at the bottom of the page. All works — art, photography, and writing — can be submitted through the form, but in the case of an error, pieces can be submitted to litmag@timbercreektalon.com. There are no limits for number of pieces submitted, although it is recommended that literature does not exceed 1,500 words. Writing should also be revised and edited prior to being submitted; editors from the magazine will only perform crucial line edits as well as formatting within the layout of the magazine. Submissions for all categories will close on Friday, March 3.

“We had some stellar pieces in our last magazine, and we’d love to get even more,” Ulery commented. “I expect the editions to keep getting even better.”

The Art and Literature Magazine team reserves the right to turn down submissions for any reason. We work as a collection of eclectic people to pick the pieces we believe best reflect the work of our student body. Keeping this in mind, please keep submissions school appropriate.

Submissions are now closed.
