Timber Creek Falcon Theater has announced the shows they will be producing during the Fall 2022 season. The shows include To Be Young, Gifted, And Black, which will be directed by Lance Morse, the musical Pippin, which will be directed by Craig Robertson, and She Kills Monsters which will be directed by Kaci Farnsworth.

To Be Young, Gifted, and Black is a play about the life of American writer, Lorraine Hansberry, in her own words. The play is adapted from her own writings. After her death in 1965, Hansberry’s ex-husband  Robert Nemiroff, collated her unpublished writings and adapted them into a stage play that first ran from 1968 to 1969 off Broadway. It was then converted into an equally successful autobiography with the same title.

Pippin is a musical that uses the premise of a mysterious performance troupe, led by the Leading Player, to tell the story of Pippin, a young prince on his search for meaning and significance. The protagonist, Pippin, and his father, Charlemagne, are characters derived from two real-life individuals of the early Middle Ages, though the plot is fictional and presents no historical accuracy regarding either.

She Kills Monsters tells the story of Agnes Evans, an average woman who loses her parents and little sister Tilly in a car accident. Having been very distant from her sister when she was alive, Agnes embarks in an adventure to get to know her sister better by playing a Dungeons & Dragons module that Tilly had written, and discovers things she’d never imagined. The plot takes place in reality and in the imaginary game world; in the game world Agnes learns about Tilly’s self-exploration and how she struggled with her identity in reality.

Information on show times will come at a later date.
