Band season has been in full swing since late July with band camp every weekday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Members have been tirelessly working to make sure that the performances during every football game this season are top notch.

Cailey Li is a senior at Timber Creek High and was selected to be a student leader of Bank of America. Li was chosen along with 300 other students across America; she was one of the three chosen form the Dallas Worth Area. The Bank of America Student Leadership program connects students with community organizations and gives them an opportunity to show their leadership skills and expand their experience.

he Gold-Out game and pep rally will happen on Sept. 2, 2021. The Gold-Out game will be at the KISD Athletic Complex at 7 p.m. against Lewisville. This year, the cheer team will be holding their annual fundraiser for St. Jude by selling t-shirts to the student body.
Just like anything else, style and fashion have stood the test of time. Decades upon decades of fashion have influenced future times, sometimes even going as far as to bring back older styles. Senior Ethan Hyatt takes some of these past influences to heart, which shows through his outfits.

During a time when it’s difficult to connect to one another due to the pandemic, finding different ways to keep in touch and interact with others can be uplifting. For Melissa Taylor’s class, communicating to other classes across the courtyard via sticky notes was one way to connect with students.
On April 20, 2021, former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty of second-degree murder, second-degree manslaughter & third-degree murder. Judge Peter A. Cahill revoked Derek Chauvin’s bail after he was sentenced for killing George Floyd. Although found guilty, Judge Peter Cahill said sentencing would take place in an estimated eight weeks.
In Bessemer, AL employees of the Amazon Fulfillment Center-BHM1 were fighting to unionize to achieve a better working environment. Voting ended for warehouse workers on Mon. March 29. The vote concluded that BHM1 will not be able to unionize. Retail, Wholesale, Department Store Union (RWDSU) plans to challenge the election results. The union intends to file objections over Amazon’s unfair labor practice charges and their election conduct with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
Following the boom of protests for social causes, a group of students formed the Movement Against Racism At Keller or MARK. Founder, senior Parker Sutliff alongside with Junior Sudheshna Khadka worked during the Summer of 2020 to form MARK in an attempt to work with the school to combat racism amongst the district.
