Fashion Design-1 students delivered the monster dolls that they created to Caprock Elementary School students on April 13, 2022. The fashion design students received drawings of monsters created by the elementary schoolers and created life-like dolls to surprise the younger students with.

“I had seen that some other teachers had done this project in the past in other districts and I thought it would be a lot of fun to bring it to Keller ISD,” Fashion Design teacher Julie Steely said.

Steely and First Grade teacher, Rocio Groover, collaborated together and created this project to benefit both high school and elementary school students. The fashion design students had created the dolls from scratch. Their work ranged from selecting what color of felt they wanted, to stuffing the doll with polyfill.

“I was excited to see these little kids and I was excited to make something they wanted and that they made for themselves,” said sophomore, Mariangela Bassett-Lupovici. “I was excited to bring something that they though about to life.”
